First ... this is a light bulb from Europe, and REQUIRES voltage equal to that which comes out of walls in Europe -if you live in the US, the voltage will be insufficient to power this bulb. Get a step-up voltage converter so that the bulb will turn on. If you choose to buy the bulb without getting what you need to power it, and it doesn't turn on, don't blame the company. I would be surprised if the company continues to sell it to the vapid and apparently illiterate Americans who cannot read, and likely keep buying, complaining and returning.
Second, decent customer service and excellent packing. The bulb arrived intact, although the voltage converter from Amazon did not.
I am sitting under the warm glow in the winter cold as I speak, and it feels great.

I ordered this bulb after reading several bad reviews complaining about the bulb not working or the packaging being bad. My experience:
Shipping: item arrived on time and was well packaged
Set up: This bulb requires the use of a 110v to 220v adapter, no problem amazon sells them for $30. It also required a good fixture that can hand the bulb's wattage, I used a fixture designed for heat lamps with a ceramic fixture to handle the heat, amazon sells these for $15.
Safe Use: This thing is really bright, close to the same intensity of the sun from up close. It will damage your eyes the same way the sun does, though it isn't a point source like the sun so it's not as bad it still carries the potential for eye damage, so do not look into it.
Tanning: it works, and it works well. Laying under it feels the same way the sun does minus the intensity of the heat. I was surprised when the color slowly changed from a yellow white to a green white to a blue white over the course of a few minutes. At this point I believe it was putting out the maximum amount of UV. On the box it says that the bulb is not approved for human use, that's how you know this thing is serious.

I must apologize to Bulborama, I first wrote this review saying the bulb didnt work. Having a 300 watt lamp to put it in is not enough. This is designed for 220 volt power. And since houses in America are wired for 110 volt, you will need to convert your power to 220 volt and then plug in a compatible 220 volt lamp rated for 300 watts for it to work. They dont really spell all that out very well for the average person who doesnt know volts, amps, watts, ect. So I still dont like the product because of this, but I suppose if I were living in Europe where this bulb comes from, it would be alot less hassle as you would just need to screw it in your floor lamp and it would work just fine and I would probably like it then. I hope this saves someone else from the headache and wasted money it caused me. Bulborama will refund within 14 days if you send it back in the original box if you make what is apparently a very common mistake. Why cant somebody make a 110 version of this bulb???

The only reason this bulb doesn't have 5 stars average is due to people who didn't realize that they need to buy a power booster for it to run. It is brilliant and I think it cured me of SAD within a few days of use. I love having a little glow of color in the winter, I think I'll use it year-round because it just makes me feel good. Highly recommended.
