unlike the pictures I cannot dim nor turn off the blue light, only the red light are responding to the remote control. it's disappointing cause I wanted to be able to switch from blue to red as needed. I'm going to return it :(

The price of this item has literally doubled since I posted my shining 5 star review. At $50 bucks, this lamp is a total rip off. I can't believe how greedy some people can be. Avoid this lamp for this price at all costs. Pay no more than $27 plus tax, period.

UPDATE: I've been using this lamp daily on a hypoestes plant in my office and I'm very pleased with the results. I was previously using a fluorescent lamp for the plant and was having trouble with rapid scragly growth and lots of stretching. Since switching to the LED bulb, my hypoestes plant has stopped streching. It's also growing a bit slower, and more bushy. It took the plant a while to get adjusted to the LED bulb however. At first I had trouble with a few burn spots, but it seems like the plant is doing much better now. I'm also still thrilled by the novelty of a remote controlled lightbulb that has adjustable colors. :-)

Wow, what a brilliant light. Super bright, dual band (red/blue) and remote controlled. You can choose all blue, all red, or a combination of the two. The intensity of each color can also be adjusted. I'm not sure why you would ever want to lower the light's intensity, but it's a fun feature to have.

It's too soon to evaluate how well plants grow under this light. There are many factors at work here, and LED lights are still in their somewhat experimental phase. I've had success with LED lights in the past, so I have no reason to assume that this one would be any different. I'll keep ya posted on future progress.

The bulb is a bit heavy, and almost a 4'' diamater, but I still managed to fit it into my small goose-neck desk lamp. Gives a fascinating purple glow to my desk. :-)

LED throws spikes and noise on line keeping X10 systems from working properly. If you have automated houses stay away from this device. Use incandescent .Otherwise works as described. I still have no manual telling me what color light to use. Non existent manual.

This LED Grow Light has a GREAT feature, in that it can be used in red, blue and/or both color modes, using it's remote control!

I'm using it now to REDUCE pain, swelling and inflammation in my leg and it WORKS well!!
