I bought 2 of these to put in my bedroom -one on each side of a wall mirror. Put one together and it looked great -seemed a little flimsy, but has held up well and provides a nice soft, filtered light. The next one was broken in the box. There is a piece at the base that holds up the fabric shade, and it is a terribly flimsy, fragile plastic with a rim for the fabric shade to rest that is held to the center by 6 thin little spokes, and one of them had broken in transit. So I took it back and got a replacement, because I really do like the style. The replacement was broken too! This time, three of the little spokes were broken, one in two places.
I'd rather spend my time supergluing the stupid thing than running it back and forth to Ikea for returns. So, the glue is drying. We used some kind of rubbery glue to hopefully bolster the whole thing and keep it from breaking again. I'll update my review to update how that panned out.
I'm giving it 3 stars because I just love the style! It's very thin and tall, looks great in pairs (at least I think it will...). Wish it was made better. At least it was cheap.
Oh, and be aware it requires six (6) bulbs. Ikea recommends LEDs and I do too -you don't want to be taking this thing apart every few months to replace the stupid bulbs. But 6 of the Ikea recommended LED bulbs and you're out $60 -more than the price of the lamp. Eek.
