Loved the look of this modern style floor lamp, it was exactly the kind we were looking for to compliment our modern chairs.Package arrived well protected in box, no defects, surronded by styrofoam which does drift everywhere. It's a good brushed steel,with black switch "knobs" on back of shade. This come broken down into 4 pieces of the stand, you pull the cord through each section and out through the bottom of the stand. It's really handy to have someone else hold the pieces while the other person pulls the cord and screws the two sections together until it's all one piece. The cord is only 64 inches, wish it were more like 8 feet to reach wall socket, but used an extension cord to make the connection. We put in 13watt fluorescent bulbs instead of incandescent, to save energy and keep the shades from getting too hot. The light is more subdued than our old lamp because of the solid shade. This sits between two chairs, so each person can aim the light to read by, plus use the top one if needed for more reflection light. The lamp is pretty steady on carpet, no wobbling because it has a heavy base. We are very happy with the look and great price too. Would recommend this item.

This lamp was a snap to put together. The weighted base is just right to keep this lamp stable on just about any carpeted or hard floor surface. The stainless steel look is clean, simple, and quite stylish. I use this in a corner of my office that is full of tech. gadgets so this fixture just blends right in. I use LED light bulbs that have a 100W bright white rating yet they only consume 12W per bulb. Needless to say with all three bulbs lit up this lamp remains cool to the touch while providing gobs of light. The switches are sure and easy to grip for those like me who are getting more arthritic in the hands as the years fly by. I don't think that anyone could go wrong with this purchase.

I needed to replace an ugly old brass-finish floor lamp with a faulty three way bulb, for reading in my favorite chair. This lamp has a sharp looking brushed nickel finish with three separately switched bulbs. The same company sells an electrically identical lamp with a black finish for about 1/3 less. Although called an incandescent floor lamp, it works just fine with low-wattage compact fluorescent or LED bulbs. Assembly is easy once you pull the cord through.

This isn't the highest quality lamp out there, but it is good quality for the price. The metal is clean and pretty, and the sockets turn fairly smoothly.

I find the individual lamps difficult to focus to where I need the light.

I find it hard to understand how a damaged product was sent out to the customer. Whatever happened to the good old fashioned quality control? The issue was resolved, but not without being an inconvenience. Yes, Amazon did adjust the price because of the damage, but it was still an inconvenience.

The lamps available from H.S are a higher quality, and therefore, I trust them more.
